How do oil and other toxins move from deep water onto the beach? Using dye and drones, a team of scientists conduct a series of experiments to explore how ocean currents transport material from offshore into the surf zone.
The Surfzone Oil Pathways Experiment is part of the Consortium for Advanced Research on Transport of Hydrocarbon in the Environment, a research initiative based at the University of Miami following the Deep Water Horizon oil spill of 2010.
