The great spangled fritillary (Speyeria cybele) is a butterfly of the Nymphalidae family. This one was observed at Port Louisa National Wildlife Refuge in Iowa. An excellent pollinator, it covers a wide range of North America, stretching from southern Canada to northern California on the West Coast and North Carolina on the East Coast.
