Learn how future earthquakes may occur around the San Andreas Fault through special clay modeling techniques used at the University of Massachusetts Amherst by geosciences professor Michele Cooke Andresen.
Full Text:
New modeling and analyses of fault geometry in the Earth’s crust by geoscientists is advancing knowledge about fault development in regions where one geologic plate slides past or over another.
Findings may help more accurately predict earthquake hazards and allow scientists to better understand how Earth evolved. This video explains how future earthquakes may occur around the San Andreas Fault through special clay modeling techniques.
